Revere, Paul. The Bloody Massacre Perpetrated in King Street.
March 26, 1770
A copperplate print for sale to the public, its full title is The Bloody Massacre Perpetrated in King Street, Boston, on March 5th, 1770 by a Party of the 29th Regiment. The print is a copy of the recent engraving made by Henry Pelham, which Revere somehow had obtained. Working with Edes and Gill, the publishers of the Boston Gazette, Revere sells hundreds of copies of the print, which goes on to become a popular symbol of the Revolutionary War.
